Torchmate 3 torch raises fast once it starts cutting

I have a TM 3, I'm cutting a sign with three words it cut the first two letters of the first word perfectly. When it started cutting the third letter it dropped down like it's suppose to and raised up about 1/8" then fired and started moving and within a inch it climbed up to about two inches before I could shut it off. I have checked the ground all the wires and I can't see anything that looks wrong. I have tried a couple more times and it keeps doing the same thing. Can anyone help me figure out why it's doing this? Thank you
