Not much functionality differences between Cad 8 and Cad 9, what the newer version gives you is a Parts Library of predefined shapes than you can enter dimensions for, such as flanges, brackets and the like, the Ginsu Knife is a handy tool that you can use to slice objects, for instance if you want to cut part of a feature off. In Cad 8 you can still wrap text if you do not have the Protext Module, though it is a crude way of doing it, Cad 9 did away with that loop hole. The differences between TM3 and TM4, the newer version has a reverse feature where you can move backwards without cutting if for some reason you lost a cut. It is much easier to use Machine Output through TM Cad if you are using multi-tool such as if you have a platemarker and want to use both tools in the same cut program. The newer software also hanldes larger gcode files better, has the ability to customize macros for using multi-tool as well as a Pierce Counter.
