MATCHING CORRECT SOFTWARE VERSION WITH SIGNAL GENERATOR DRIVER

I recently purchased an older 2x2 Torchmate. It looks to be in decent shape. No software or paperwork was included. Being that I have some basic experience using a Torchmate w/ Accumove 3 at work, I believed I could make my recent purchase work.
My first problem is I am not sure which version of software to download for my 501A signal generator/Driver. Serial Number #220319. Is it Version 3 or Version 4 ?Will downloading the wrong version damage my Driver ?
When I did download version 4 I was unable to connect to Signal generator. I figure this was a good place to stop and reach out for help. Any suggestions would be highly apreciated.
