Since there is no sensing delay timer in accumove. If I want to cut 3/8" base plates (4 holes) and program a multi tool cut path, with slower feed rate for the holes - wouldn't this make the height sensing dive into the plate due to the slower cut speed? I wish corner lockout would completely lock out a hole under a specified hole size. Are there any work arounds for this?
Corner lock out not working on specified sized holes? If you are generating a lower cut speed for your holes and you are using SAMPLE VOLTAGE then the AVHC will auto adjust for the feed rate adjustment.
Ah! I forgot about the sampling feature. So that will correct the cut height/ voltage difference no matter what the feed rate is? So, it will sample the arc voltage in the first inch (im guessing) and just maintain that voltage no matter what the arc voltage/feed rate, etc is set at on VMD?
Correct it samples the voltage and adjusts the SET voltage to that number to correct the height regardless of speed. So for example you can run AUTO on the line speed test without crashing the torch. It is finally a true "AUTOMATIC" height control.
Understood. Thank you. I've never done a multi tool tool path before, is there anything special I need to setup in CAD beings its all plasma (not plate marker, etc)?
In your CAD it is just setting up the plate marker as a tool and get your sequence correct prior to outputting the code. There is a webinar with horrible sound going over on our website. link is here... www.youtube.com/embed/r0cDEpnYV_4
Got it, seems to be working well. Except I sequenced the cut order on the first part, then I did an array of parts to fill the sheet and it cut the first part perfect, then started cutting all holes for all parts.. which is fine, I didn't realize I would have to sequence it to cut holes, then perimeter on each part. Still need to get the hang of the small stuff.. Big learning curve coming from the old blue screen avhc and driver software
IF you are going to be arraying or nesting these multipathed parts you need to make sure after you generate the tool path and sequence then SELECT ALL then LAYOUT/GROUP thendo your ARRAY/Nest. this will make it cut each part instead of insides first then outsides
When I try to group a multi tool pathed part and try machine out put it says there is nothing to cut? It's like grouping messes with the tool paths? Edit: Nevermind! Only messes with toolpath when using keyboard shortcut. Thanks!
