I have yet another issue with a Lincoln product, the flexcut 80 torch head and consumables. Just when i think this equipment is running properly I have issues in another area. The electrode will not unscrew. This is a new torch head. As the previous on did the same thing. You put an electrode in and hand tighten it with no tools. Yet when its time to replace the electrode, it will not unscrew by hand or a wrench without spinning all the parts inside the torch head. I can only assume that spinning the parts inside the torch head is not a good thing. I am using 60 amp consumables. These consumables were new when placed in the torch and it has 612 pierces. This is over the 400 pierces that torchmate recommends but we did have a tech onsite, as well as tech support and an engineer all confirm that as long as the consumables were in good working order that this could be stretched out. Also we check every morning to make sure we have a good ground connected and we read 0 ohms.

Has this happened to anyone else? I am behind already on a job and I need any help I can get..........

    Hello,

What is the air pressure set to when purging on the regulator on the front of the unit? Does this maintain throughout the 600+ pieces? What is the air quality like, do you have any photos of some old consumables you can send in so that we can check for contaminants? Air quality and volume are key to making sure that the electrode cannot become "stuck" when attempting to remove it. Air volume is important for cut quality but is also responsible for keeping the consumables cool.
