Hi. I was wondering if there are instructions anywhere to take apart the LC-105M Plasma Torch. I see there are diagrams for changing the consumables out. Would like to replace part # 9ss28176-5 if possible. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
You might be better off replacing the whole torch, LC105M has been discontinued and replaced by LC100M part # BK12849-25. This is a newer style torch that takes a different electrode, retaining cap and shield cap, only the nozzles and swirl ring are compatible. Contact Lincoln Electric and they will swap out what new consumables you have 1-888-935-3877 select option 1 then 4. As for taking the head apart, I do not have a diagram or instructions, it is much easier taking apart than putting back together, the tricky part is getting all the wires lined back up when reattaching the sleeve halves back together.
Hi. I already had the part. We replaced it and the torch is working much better now. As far as I can tell the pressure made some difference. Now it should be set right. But I notice that like before at times the plasma cutter seems to not pierce the steel. Almost seems if you let it cut too much in a row that it loses power to go through the steel. Give it a break and it works fine again. I am thinking the flexcut 80 is our problem as it was sent to a depot for repair and as far as I can tell this behavior started after we got it back. Our service depot also did not have the tools to test it before giving it back. They replaced boards inside the flexcut 80 but never tested it. I am trying to make an appointment with someone else here that has a plasma cutter to troubleshoot this issue with him. Thanks for the help!
Hi Paul, do you mind if I ask where you sourced the replacement head? I believe that's all I need, and would rather spend less than the amount of a full replacement torch.
