I had been running a program to cut a flange. Everything was ok for a bit then an issue started. Torch head lowers to material, plasma starts then before it starts to move the plasma arc is lost but it continues as if it still is cutting. Reset the program. Datum reset multiple times. Turn machine off and back on. Replaced all the consumables. Double checked all parts were tight. No breakaway issue. Thought maybe it could be the program so i moved ahead to the next cut and i et the same thing. I had been cutting for about 30min before this started. No Faults on the plasma. Turned if off and on several times. Air is clean, dry and cold. PSI is set proper. All settings in job setup set per the manual. Cutting 1/2" stainless. I have been trying to diagnosis this for over an hour. Any help would be appreciated.
More issues arise...... as normal for my table. Got to love the hours and thousand of dollars I lost trouble shooting this table. I am envious of you guys who have tables that perform as advertised. But I digress........ Now after shutting things down for 15min and let everything power down and rest, the x position says 50 yet it's only 15" from datum position. Any reasons why? Again there have been no changes made by myself. A simple shut down and turn off and things change.
After shutting everything down again for 15min and restarting the table now is moving correctly. What causes these changes no one has been able to explain to me. One moment it works. Next it doesn't with no changes being manually entered. Still having the plasma issue. Checked ok to move is on. Even toggled it off and still get the same results. With ok to move selected. Torch pierces, ok to move light flashes and plasma looses arc. Table continues to drive as if it were still cutting.
I would recommend calling into support as it seems either you are having sequence issues/settings or something. Also verify that you are getting 3 ohms or less from your independent ground rod to the star ground.
Today I came and turned on the machine and she starts cutting as if there were no issues. I was able to cut the parts I needed. But of course more issues arose. As it was cutting all of a sudden the second set of lines showed up as it was cutting. It didn't create a problem but I doubt this is a good thing. I'll be calling tomorrow morning to see if they can help. BUT if there is no issue while I'm on the phone with them then they can't correct an issue that's not present. I'll call anyways to double check all the proper settings are in place.
Double lines is a graphic/redraw issue and isn't an issue up to just visually being a distraction. Usually it shows when doing a RUN FROM HERE.
